Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are popular treatments used for replacing lost volume in the face and softening lines and folds. The treatment is relatively quick and results can be seen straight away.
Injecting dermal fillers can instantly soften and plump out wrinkles or improve your looks by enhancing your natural features. Combined with a local anaesthetic, dermal fillers are injected into the skin to give your face a natural volume, leaving your skin hydrated and more youthful.
Popular areas to add volume and fullness include the cheeks, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, lips, chin & jawline.
What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers contain hyaluronic acid which is a naturally occurring sugar found in the skin tissue. This, along with collagen and elastin, forms the building blocks of our skin. Hyaluronic acid can hold over 1000 times its own weight in water, therefore once injected into the skin it will attract water and will plump out the lines in the skin giving a more youthful appearance.
What are the benefits?
Dermal fillers can be used to temporarily restore lost volume, giving your skin a smoother and younger appearance. Depending on the type of filler used the results can be seen for approximately 12 – 24 months making this a cost effective procedure.
What happens during the procedure?
Your appointment will start with a consultation to assess your areas of concern. We look at the symmetry of the face, the natural contours and those areas where enhancement is needed in a subtle and natural way. We will provide you with a topical anaesthetic (numbing) cream but the needle used is very fine. You may experience a little discomfort but most clients find the treatment entirely manageable with the local anaesthetic used. Our nurse will prepare the skin and carry out the injections. The treatment takes approximately 1 hour.
How long will the results from dermal fillers last?
The Juvederm Vycross range – Volift, Voluma & Volux are longlasting dermal fillers with results lasting 1 – 2 years.
All the Juvederm range are created by the leading aesthetics specialists Allergan – who also create Botox®.
What products will be used?
At S18 Face Clinic we only use FDA approved Juvederm & Teosyal dermal filler products which have consistently demonstrated safety, efficacy and predictability.
Will I require a follow up?
We do not routinely make a follow up appointment after a dermal fillers treatment. Though if you feel you need a follow up appointment and would like to discuss your treatment further simply call us and we can arrange an appointment for you.
What happens after my appointment?
You can carry on with your day as normal after your treatment. Although it is important that you do not touch the area or apply make up for the first day to reduce the risk of infection. It is important to avoid saunas and steam rooms for 2 weeks post treatment.
You will be given full aftercare instructions following your treatment.
